They say every cloud has a silver lining, and the recession is no different. As horrifying as it is, one good thing will come out of it: change. Already, I’ve seen a commercial for a new bank. GM’s new “we will become stronger ad” features mostly hybrid vehicles. The companies that are flourishing are companies like Squarespace, which offers a genuinely useful product (even if it does seem like a bit of a WordPress knockoff) and have experienced 100% growth in the past month, according to their FAQ page.

Only those companies that offer useful services at reasonable prices will survive, and so many new ideas will see the light of day. It’s like new life coming after a storm…

…if only storms (recessions) could be less destructive. It would have been great if we could have avoided this all together, but now that it’s happening, at least there’s something to look forward to.
